At the end of our wine tour, we had lunch at Gabrielskloof, another winery/restaurant in the valley. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was beautiful. Shane and I were impressed by the simple architecture of the buildings on the property.
In addition to wines, many wine farms produce olives for olive oil and lavender. I wish you could spell the beautiful grape, olive, and lavender fragrance all over the valley! My understanding is that grapes are picked in the summer (January-March), then olives in the Fall (March-May) and then lavender.
